Job Description
Shiflet Richardson Architects is looking for an experienced, full-time Architect/Project Manager to join our team. The position will lead all aspects of the design process from conception to completion. The ideal candidate is extremely well-organized with 7+ yrs’ industry experience in high-end residential work.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for full-project management of multiple clients and projects at once; must be a mature and skilled multitasker
- Demonstrate a mature understanding of 3D renderings, site plans, construction documents and shop drawings; generate support documents in Revit + AutoCAD as needed
- Maintain project and meeting documentation (meeting recaps, field reports, status updates, correspondence, and punch lists)
- Track project updates and communicate updates internally with design team
- Maintain all client info in real time
- Oversee preparation and finalization of digital and physical presentations for office and client meetings
- Demonstrate confidence and on-the-spot problem solving skills during meetings and site visits with clients and tradespeople
- Produce high quality, creative work that reflects the clients’ priorities and upholds the design standards of the firm
- Effectively communicate design ideas with material samples, hand-sketching and/or digital graphics
- Be a generous team player, collaborating with principal and colleagues toward shared goals
- Produce drawings, specifications, material selections and schedules needed for construction documentation
- Work with builders and respond to RFIs; review submittals, substitutions and field conditions for conformance with design intent
- Liaise with clients and stakeholders as a positive, supportive team player and problem solver
- Prioritize workload with a high level of organization and strong attention to detail
- Learn quickly, take direction, and continue self-education on industry trends
Basic Requirements
- Professional degree in Architecture; licensure a plus
- 7+ years’ experience in a firm setting
- Experience working in high-end residential architecture
- Strong design sensibilities and graphic skills
- Revit proficiency a must; AutoCAD, Sketchup, or Enscape experience a plus
- Experience managing projects from conception through completion
- Ability to complete a CD set + specifications
- Ability to delegate to junior staff
- Full-time availability
