Adam Word Gates Architecture Studio is a boutique architecture and interior design company in Central Texas. We are a fully a virtual studio with projects in San Antonio, Austin, DFW, and the Texas Hill Country. We are a design forward, humanist studio with an emphasis on collaboration, design communication, and rigorous self-improvement.

Job Description :

Architect II

Licensed architect responsible for finished plans, specifications, or approval of materials and construction. May supervise a small staff of architects and technicians. Applies sound and diverse knowledge of architecture principles and practices in a  broad array of assignments and related fields. Acts independently regarding architectural methods and complexities. Requires use of advanced techniques and modification/extension of theories, precepts, and practices of individual’s field. Supervision and guidance mainly concern overall objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters.*

Role / Responsibilities

  • Lead collaborative teams and manage projects through all phases of design and construction.
  • Collaborate with Principle to review project scope, develop project schedules, and draft contracts.
  • Conduct regulatory due diligence and feasibility research.
  • Collaborate with Principle to develop and deliver project concepts.
  • Oversee and execute design development phase tasks.
  • Prepare and review construction documents for a variety of project types.
  • Provide and oversee construction phase services.

Qualifications

  • 8-10 years of relevant work experience.
  • Professional degree in Architecture.
  • Licensure in Texas (LEED Accreditation is a appreciated).
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience in Revit, BIM360, and AutoCAD (Enscape is a plus).
  • Experience and proficiency in Bluebeam Revu & Studio.
  • Strong ability producing Contract Documents for commercial projects.
  • Hand-drawing, SketchUp, & Adobe Creative Suite skills are strongly desired.
  • Experience with both Multi-family & Commercial projects.
  • Interior Architecture experience (Preferred).
