Founded in 1989, Cornerstone Architects is an architectural and interior design firm based in Austin, Texas. Cornerstone Architects specializes in architecture and interior design for both residential and commercial projects.

Cornerstone’s international experience includes both commercial and luxury residential projects. Our varied portfolio consists of retail, restaurant, recreational, resort, multi-family, office, medical, religious, and single-family residential projects. The firm’s design approach blends architectural, interior, and sustainable design disciplines to create a uniquely balanced cutting edge architectural solution for each project.

Cornerstone Architects has received numerous awards and accolades including several National Commercial Builders Council Awards of Excellence. As a participant in many homes tours and parade of homes, Cornerstone has also gained numerous accolades for their residential work. Cornerstone has received Best of Houzz Design and Service awards every year since 2012 and been featured in numerous Houzz editorial ideabooks. Cornerstone has been featured on HGTV, KVUE, in LUXE Interiors+Design Magazine, and has designed many beautiful show homes for Southern Living, Progressive Farmer, and bRILLIANT Magazines.

Cornerstone Architects has also been recognized for sustainable design practices. In addition to being a Platinum LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) and NAHB Gold rated sustainable home, Cornerstone’s entry for the Mueller Parade of Homes received multiple awards including The People’s Choice, Best of Show, Best Architectural Design, Best Overall Green/Sustainable Home, and Most Unique Green Feature. The 2011 and 2012 AIA Homes Tour Residences are yet another example of Cornerstone’s continued emphasis on environmentally friendly design. The 2014 Modern Home Tour Ridgewood Residence and the 2011 AIA Homes Tour Bowman Residence represent examples of the many Cornerstone projects that have received exemplary 5-star green ratings in Austin Energy’s Green Building Program. Cornerstone is also proud to have LEED Accredited Professionals on their team to help facilitate the LEED certification process.

Cornerstone began as a firm exclusive to residential projects, but has now built a solid portfolio of commercial and multifamily work primarily in Austin, but also around the state of Texas. Noteworthy projects include the Northwest Hills Medical Center, Fiori Day Spa, Gateway Community Church, Flintrock Falls Clubhouse, Paragon Condominiums, Belterra Amenity Center, Waterloo Ice House, and several interior office and medical finish-outs.
