Las Piñatas is an annual event that exhibits large scale piñata installations for the Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center’s (MACC) Dia de los Muertos Festival. This showcase serves as a beacon of creativity, inviting the community to engage with piñata-inspired artworks and enjoy complimentary piñatas.

By providing resources, support, and opportunities for Latinx architects, designers, and allies, LiA promotes cultural awareness and sensitivity throughout the architectural field. Through networking, mentorship, and professional development initiatives, LiA nurtures a welcoming and dynamic community that reflects the rich diversity of the profession, underscoring the vital role of the Latino community in enriching Austin’s architectural and cultural landscape.
