About Us:
Chioco Design is a design-focused architectural and interiors studio that takes on a broad range of project types and scales. Our firm’s work ranges from the intimacy of private residences to the massive scale of industrial adaptive reuse. We have designed restaurants, bars, retail stores, mixed-use facilities, and public spaces. We maintain a diverse client base with various project types and believe this to be an effective way to experience and contribute to the community.
We are Seeking:
Chioco Design is seeking an experienced Architect or Project Designer with 5–8+ years of professional experience to join our collaborative Austin studio. We are a design-driven firm with a diverse portfolio of hospitality, commercial, residential, and adaptive reuse projects recognized for their craft, clarity, and connection to place. The ideal candidate will play a key role in leading projects from concept through construction. You’ll work closely with partners and team members on all phases of design and documentation, contributing both creatively and technically to projects that range in scale and typology.
Please note that we are an in-office design studio. No remote or hybrid positions are currently available.
Reponsibilities:
- Lead design development, documentation, and coordination on multiple projects
- Manage consultant teams and maintain communication with clients and contractors
- Develop detailed drawings, specifications, and material selections
- Participate in construction administration and site observation
- Contribute to a culture of collaboration, curiosity, and design excellence
Qualifications:
- Arch or M.Arch, seeking licensure
- 5-8 years of experience in design and documentation of commercial and residential projects
- Proficiency in: Revit, AutoCad, Sketchup, Photoshop, InDesign
- Familiarity with Rhino and Enscape is also a plus
- Strong design and graphic presentation skills
- Knowledge of construction standards, methods and materials
- Stong knowledge of local building codes and standards
