Runa Workshop

http://www.runaworkshop.com/

Runa Workshop is a sharp-minded, energetic architecture and interior design practice founded in 2009. We are a workshop in every sense of the word – a collaborative team where technical rigor, conceptual clarity, and the client goals carry equal weight throughout the design process. Our workshop embraces the evolving needs of our clients and community, with thoughtfully considered and typologically diverse projects ranging from commercial office, retail, performing arts, workplace, multi-family, and mixed-use. Whether navigating challenging zoning regulations, complex programs, or a budget-conscious proforma, we believe design thrives with challenges and constraints, not in spite of them.

We are seeking a Project Designer to join our Austin office who has a minimum of 3 years of experience with commercial projects aligning with our body of work. Qualified candidates are creative, enthusiastic, self-directed, organized, and are honing their skills to become a well-rounded design professional. Runa Workshop is intentionally a smaller firm so your responsibilities will be as varied as the scope and scale of our work. Candidates should be able to engage with several projects simultaneously and efficiently, demonstrate strong design, visual, and communication skills, and have a tenacious curiosity to learn local building & development codes, sustainable construction methods, and the business of architecture. We are looking for someone who is eager to contribute immediately, takes initiative, and enjoys learning by doing.

Runa Workshop supports Emerging Professionals and encourages Project Designers to seek licensure as early in their tenure as possible through mentorship, exposure to all aspects of architectural practices, professional development opportunities, and reimbursement for AREs and registration with TBAE and AIA.

If you want to work for a creative design practice, enjoy a collaborative environment, and are a self-starter, please submit your resume and portfolio electronically to jobs@runaworkshop.com. In your email, include a short note about yourself, why you’re seeking this position, and why you think Runa Workshop is the best place for the next chapter in your career.
