CG&S Design-Build, an Austin-based family business founded in 1957 whose purpose is to provide architecture, interior design and general contracting services all under one roof, welcomes you.

We all work together to create award-winning homes that allow our clients to live better.

We specialize in designing and building large-scale renovations, additions and new homes. If you want to belong to a team that does that well every day, this company’s a great fit for you.

Our clients are Austin-area residents who understand that working with a design-build company is the best choice for them to have a curated, low stress experience while designing and renovating/building their home.

If you have experience working with this type of client and/or in a design-build setting – or want that experience – this role will be a great fit.

You will fit right into our CG&S culture if you:

  • Are Authentic
  • Do The Right Thing
  • Are Humbly Confident
  • Have a Can-Do Attitude
  • Are a Team Player

You’ll love coming to work every day if you get, want, and have the capacity to:

  • Have full design responsibility [and recognition] for your assigned projects, in close coordination with your Project Team [Salesperson, Estimator, Interior Designer, Design Support Staff, Construction Project Manager].
  • Be the primary point of contact for your clients during the Design Phase.
  • Keep your projects on schedule and on budget during the Design Phase.
  • Complete Construction Administration [CA] during the Construction Phase.
  • Respond well to feedback, and seek help if you need it.
  • Understand your role in the company and how you, personally, can have an impact on the success of CG&S.

You’ll have success here if you value clear processes and feel qualified to do the following things:

  • Guide clients through decision-making during a three-phase design process.
  • Design in a method and style that gives the clients the best solution to their needs, while understanding budget limitations and delivering a design that satisfies both.
  • Make all architectural selections.
  • Work in tandem with in-house interior designer on interior specifications/selections.
  • Prepare a full set of construction documents in Revit (preferred) or AutoCAD according to firm standards.

We train our team to help them succeed, and everyone on our team helps with our success. In this role, you’ll be accountable to do the following:

  • Be in charge of multiple projects simultaneously, keeping each project on time and on budget during the design phases.
  • Handing off a thorough set of construction documents (drawings, specs, schedules, cutsheets) to the construction manager when the project passes from design into construction.
  • Mentor staff that have less experience than you.
  • Continuously grow your skill set with intent to become a senior project architect.

If you want to come to work, learn, and hit those accountability metrics, you’ll be recognized and rewarded.

To apply for this position, you must have the following qualifications:

  • Hold a professional degree in architecture.
  • Have a minimum of 10+ years experience, preferably in a design-build or integrated project delivery environment.
  • Have experience in residential architecture.
  • Are a Registered Architect (or on the path to licensure), preferably licensed in the state of Texas.
  • Be located in the Austin metro area and/or have plans to relocate to the Austin metro area in the immediate future. (No relocation package is offered as part of this position; all relocation expenses are your responsibility.)
  • Be legally eligible employment in the US.

Our company runs on EOS purely. That means as a member of this team, you will have a leader who:

  • Gives clear directions
  • Makes sure you have the necessary tools
  • Acts with the greater good in mind
  • Delegates appropriately
  • Makes their expectations clear
  • Communicates well
  • Has effective meetings
  • Meets one-on-one with you on a regular basis and completes an annual performance review
  • Rewards and recognizes your performance
