AtkinsRéalis seeks a talented and highly motivated Project Architect to join our team in Austin, Texas. The candidate will work with project leadership and design teams to manage project in all phases of design. The successful candidate will apply technical professional proficiency to create innovative design solutions for architectural problems and coordinate related project activities. The position also supports business development and presentation efforts in securing and advancing new projects.

Job requirements/ Duties
- Ability to make timely design and technical decisions in a collaborative manner while seeking advice of peers and supervisors.
- Ability to present oneself professionally to clients as well as maintain a ‘seller-doer’ approach. Ability to routinely interface with clients and keep client properly informed.
- Ability to perform programming, planning and other conceptual design activities.
- Develop designs and sketches into Revit-based construction documents as well as direct a project team to do the same.
- Ability to produce design and construction documents in BIM.
- Ability to mentor and lead a project team to produce a complete set of construction documents. Ability to perform QC review for design & redline documents for production by project team in BlueBeam or another digital format.
- Ability to coordinate with sub-consultants and other disciplines and mentor junior staff to do the same.
- Ability to perform QC review for specifications and contribute needed information to a specification writer.
- Ability to create organized Exhibits in BlueBeam and PowerPoint for client and team review.
- Ability to direct & perform (if required) site observation & field work including site investigations, existing facility inventory and generate field measured documentation.
- Provide Sr. Architects / Project Managers with status reports of progress on architectural documents.
- Ability to complete assignments efficiently, accurately and in a timely manner. and self-perform quality control on work prior to publication.
- Communicate regularly with the team and stay within the hours budgeted for tasks assigned.
- Ability to maintain and coordinate project BIM model and strong knowledge in construction document standards and conventions.
- Possess a strong knowledge of building codes and have experience with code review processes.
- Ability to interact with regulatory agencies and achieve a consensus.
- Ability to consult with product manufacturers, to evaluate, and obtain accurate cost information select materials, and inspect architectural features in the field.
- Understanding of building materials and construction methods.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively on several projects or issues simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment as needed.
- Ability to analyze information and propose effective solutions on own initiative.
- Ability to create basic and informative 3D models in BIM or another digital format.
- Possess an Entrepreneurial spirit and a desire for career advancement.
- Resume with a large variety of project types both in size and complexity a plus.
- Performs such other duties as the Supervisor determine necessary to support the Architecture Practice.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture required.
- Minimum 10-15 years of relevant work experience to include all phases of architectural design and CAD drafting, detailing and coordination of consultants.
- The position requires expertise of BIM/Revit and AutoCAD and Enscape or Lumion renderings software preferred.
- Registered Architect or Candidate must be in process of completing the Architect Registration Exam (ARE).
- Excellent computer skills and ability to communicate effectively with through verbal and written communication.
- Knowledgeable about building codes, Texas Accessibility Standards 2012, ADAAG and other relevant building design criteria’s applicable for projects
- LEED AP is a plus or other sustainability certification or ability to obtain within first 6 months of hire (Highly Preferred).
- Advanced knowledge of building systems and experience in implementation of various building systems and project types such as (aviation, rail, transit, commercial, education) is a plus.
