A Parallel Architecture

Junior Designer
Full-time / In-person

We’re a small, craft-focused architecture studio working on modern projects rooted in material, detail, and place. While we’re based locally, our work takes us all over the country—from city lots to remote landscapes. We’re looking for a junior designer to join our team—someone who’s eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a collaborative design environment.

The role:
You’ll support the design and documentation process from early concept through construction. That includes everything from sketching and diagramming to drafting, rendering, and coordinating with consultants. You’ll be working closely with senior staff on custom residential and small commercial projects that prioritize thoughtful design and execution.

What we’re looking for:
– B.Arch or M.Arch degree
– Strong design sensibility with attention to detail and materiality
– Experience with AutoCAD LT, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite
– Solid communication and organization skills
– Curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to jump in and figure things out
– Comfort working independently and as part of a small, collaborative team

We value people of strong character—those who draw strength from a sense of personal security and self-worth. These individuals are open to feedback, persistent in the face of challenges, and capable of learning and adapting without compromising their principles. They remain calm in chaos, handle unpredictability without anxiety, and honor their commitments. They can organize complexity, complete what they start, and set aside personal ego for the greater good of the team. If that resonates with how you work and lead, we’d love to hear from you.

Bonus if you also have:
– Hand drawing skills
– Interest or background in photography, woodworking, or metalworking

We’re a tight-knit office where ideas are shared openly, and every team member has a voice. This is a full-time position with the potential to grow as you take on more responsibility and develop your own design voice.
