Derrington Building Studio
A growth-oriented design role for an early-career architect/designer looking to build expertise across schematic design, construction documentation, detailing, and studio practice.
Requirements
- Experience: 2+ years of professional experience.
- Education: A professional degree in architecture (Bachelor’s or Master’s).
- Work Experience: Experience supporting schematic design, design development and construction documentation. Exposure to commercial architecture is preferred.
- Software: Proficiency in ArchiCAD or the ability to become ArchiCAD-fluent within 30 days. Familiarity with Adobe Suite and Enscape.

About the role
- Support project design from concept through construction documentation.
- Typically work on one to two active projects (Pre-Design through Construction Documentation), while also providing support during Bidding & Negotiation and Construction Contract Administration under the mentorship of a Senior Designer.
- Coordinate with engineers and other project consultants.
- Help translate client goals, site conditions, and budget constraints into thoughtful design solutions under senior guidance.
- Incorporate feedback efficiently and take ownership of assigned work while continuing to develop professionally.
- Confident in presenting both concepts and design proposals to clients.
