Who We’re Seeking
Rheinlander Architects is searching for a visionary Business Development Specialist to craft and execute growth strategies that align with our firm’s creative vision. This role is perfect for an articulate strategic thinker who finds fulfillment in developing relationships that directly fuel our collective success while embodying our collaborative spirit.
Your Strategic Impact
As our Business Development Specialist, you’ll collaborate with our principals and marketing consultants to showcase our unique capabilities and identify and secure meaningful projects in targeted sectors. You’ll:
- Strategically identify and engage in industry events, client meetings, trade shows, and community gatherings that position us as thought leaders while generating qualified leads
- Maintain meticulous CRM records of all client interactions while developing and nurturing relationships with key decision-makers and supporting professionals (architects, engineers, owner representatives)
- Synthesize business development activities into insightful leadership reports and develop targeted action plans for specific client pursuits
- Align our marketing initiatives with firm-wide objectives by collaborating with leadership to shape strategy and coordinate resource allocation
- Drive brand expansion through consistent market presence in our target industries while ensuring our distinctive value proposition remains clear throughout all client engagements
- Develop, manage, and execute mass outreach campaigns
- Coordinate and manage social media presence, outreach, etc. in coordination with a third-party marketing consultant
- Manage the complete proposal lifecycle from RFQ analysis through SOQ preparation, presentation development, and post-submission follow-up
- Coordinate presentation rehearsals and represent our firm during client meetings
Your Professional Toolkit
We’re looking for a seasoned professional who combines industry knowledge with business acumen. You should have:
- 5-12 years of dedicated business development experience, preferably within architecture, engineering, or construction
- A bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or related discipline with demonstrated expertise in construction terminology and processes
- Exceptional communication skills paired with proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn and master new technologies
- A proven ability to independently prioritize complex tasks, solve problems creatively, and maintain meticulous attention to detail
- A collaborative mindset with energetic self-direction, organizational excellence, and adaptability in fast-paced environments
- Strategic thinking capabilities combined with a growth-oriented approach to continuous learning and professional development
- Mature business judgment with the discretion to handle confidential information appropriately
Practical Considerations
- Valid driver’s license required for local travel
- On-site presence at our Austin office
- Flexibility for occasional after-hours or weekend availability during occasional industry events such as tradeshows.
- Willingness to travel as opportunities require.
