Position Overview
ĒSO Architecture is seeking an Architect III to support project leadership and delivery from concept through completion. This role is intended for a licensed architect who brings strong technical capability, coordination expertise, and growing leadership in guiding project outcomes.
Architect III team members contribute across all phases of design and documentation, serve as a technical resource on building systems and detailing, and help guide coordination with consultants and internal teams. They work closely with project managers, associate principals, and firm leadership to support project delivery,
represent technical solutions, and ensure alignment with design intent and firm standards. They also support client relationship management through clear communication, responsiveness, and consistent follow-through.
Required Qualifications
• Professional degree in Architecture from an accredited institution
• 8+ years of professional architectural experience
• Licensure required
• Demonstrated experience supporting projects from conceptual design through construction
• Strong technical knowledge of building systems, detailing, and constructability
• Proficiency in Archicad or related BIM platforms, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and SketchUp
• Working knowledge of City of Austin codes, permitting processes, and consultant coordination
• Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining quality and deadlines
Key Responsibilities
• Participate in and support conceptual design through all project phases
• Develop and represent technical approaches and solutions on assigned projects
• Serve as a subject matter resource on building systems, assemblies, and detailing
• Coordinate with consultants, project managers, and internal teams to maintain alignment on scope, schedule, and deliverables
• Translate design intent into clear, coordinated, and buildable documentation
• Support and lead portions of project communication, including client and consultant interactions
• Identify and resolve technical challenges, escalating issues with proposed solutions when needed
• Coordinate with project leadership on technical decisions, product selections, and documentation strategies
• Support QA/QC efforts and ensure adherence to firm standards
• Assist in managing production workflow and guiding junior staff
• Support client communication by contributing to meetings, follow-ups, and coordination efforts
• Help maintain positive client relationships through reliable delivery and clear, professional communication
