The Greenbelt Overlook Residence belongs to a family of three and features a spectacular view of the Austin Barton Creek Greenbelt. The homeowners requested a home both serious and playful that referenced modern and rustic influences while hewing to neither. This puzzle, combined with a difficult site restricted by setbacks, protected trees, and utility easements, created a daunting design challenge. The house comprises public functions and a small gymnasium on the first floor, with bedrooms, a small den, and a generous roof deck above. The home is rich in detail, with a robust materiality throughout.
