AIA Austin remains committed to fostering a professional community rooted in justice, equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging. Through our JEDI initiatives, we aim to provide meaningful resources and connections for architects at every stage of their careers.

With recent legislative changes like SB17, we are proactive in ensuring that JEDI remains a valuable resource—not just for AIA Austin, but for the broader community. Our goal is to support students, emerging professionals, and seasoned architects alike with tools to thrive in an inclusive environment. As part of this goal, our website means to serve as a hub for scholarships, educational materials, and networking opportunities.

AIA Austin Ambassador Program

New members: Our chapter invites new members of all backgrounds to join our inclusive community, which is rooted in the principles of Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion. Our JEDI committee aims to strengthen a sense of belonging for new and existing members through an initiative called the AIA Austin Ambassador program. If desired, we can connect you with an existing member who can introduce you to the local Austin chapter, share resources on how to get involved, and be a friendly contact. Existing members: We are looking for volunteers to connect with new AIA Austin members, to help them learn about our various committees, programs and events! Ambassador volunteers would be paired with a new member based on compatibility. If interested, please complete this survey and we will follow up with additional information.
