The AIA Austin Commercial Architecture Committee is committed to celebrate and expand awareness of commercial architecture and its role in shaping Austin’s identity, economy, and urban landscape. By fostering greater awareness and appreciation for thoughtfully designed commercial spaces, we aim to highlight their impact on creating vibrant, sustainable, and connected communities.

Our mission also focuses on fostering collaboration and idea-sharing within the architectural community. We’ll provide a platform for architects to exchange innovative concepts, learn from one another, and collectively elevate the standards of commercial design in Austin.

To bring this vision to life, we actively promote and celebrate commercial projects completed by Austin-based firms. Through building tours, exhibitions, lectures, and other events, we showcase the creativity, ingenuity, and expertise of local architects. These initiatives provide opportunities for the public and industry professionals alike to explore the stories behind these projects, gain insight into the design process, and connect with the architects shaping the city’s future.

Our goals:

• Expand focus on commercial architecture within AIA Austin
• Create opportunities for touring commercial /large-scale projects
• Highlight unique aspects of commercial architecture practice for members
• Expand AIA Austin’s relationships with commercial contractors and developers
