Cathleen McGuigan is Editor-in-Chief of Architectural Record, the nation’s leading architecture publication for 127 years. Under her leadership, Record has won the Grand Neal award, the top American Business Media award for overall excellence, among numerous other editorial awards. In addition, she oversaw the launch of Record’s Women in Architecture Design Leadership annual awards program in 2014, to recognize the contributions of women in the profession. It is the only honor of its kind in the U.S.

A former architecture critic and arts editor of Newsweek, McGuigan has a BA from Brown University and was awarded a Loeb Fellowship at the Graduate School of Design at Harvard. She has taught at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism and has been a Poynter Fellow at Yale. Besides Newsweek and Record, her articles have appeared in such publications as The New York Times Magazine, Smithsonian, and Rolling Stone. She sits on the board of trustees of the Skyscraper Museum and the Center for Architecture in New York and is on the advisory council of the Beverly Willis Architecture Foundation.

Patricia Rhee is a Partner at Ehrlich Yanai Rhee Chaney Architects, where she has practiced for 20 years, and was recently elevated to AIA’s College of Fellows. Patricia received her Master’s degree in Architecture from Harvard’s Graduate School of Design and her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania. She is the recipient of the 2017 Culver City Women in Business Council Visionary Award, and was also a Founding Co-Chair of the AIA Los Angeles Women in Architecture committee. In 2015, her firm received the 2015 National AIA Firm Award, one of the industry’s highest honors. Patricia has served as Partner in Charge and Lead Designer for several of the firm’s most notable projects including the Culver Steps, John M. Roll Federal Courthouse and The Press Adaptive Re-Use. Her project experience ranges from civic to institutional and commercial developments of all scales and multiple delivery methods including design-build. She has lectured internationally, most recently at University of Melbourne’s School of Design where Parlour co-hosted the Transformations: Actions in Equity Symposium.

Based in Chicago, Architect Margaret Cavenagh is Principal of Interior Architecture at Studio Gang. Actively engaged in the field, she has served as a juror for the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Design Awards in Wisconsin and Missouri; lectured at the University of Pennsylvania Women in Design Symposium; and was recently published in Women [Re]Build: Stories, Polemic, Futures, a book of reflections on the renewal of feminist thought in architecture.
Margaret holds a Master of Architecture from Washington University in St. Louis and a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Virginia (UVA). She was recently appointed to the Dean’s Advisory Board at UVA’s School of Architecture and is currently a Lecturer on Professional Practice for the School’s graduate program.

Frank Zilm serves as the Chester Dean Lecturer on Healthcare Design in the School of Architecture Health and Wellness program at the University of Kansas School of Architecture and Design. He teaches Architecture 731 and participated in studio design reviews, along with thesis and dissertation committees. Healthcare Design Magazine selected Frank as the top educator in 2013. He has worked within major health care architectural firms, teaching hospitals, and for the past thirty years has headed his own consulting firm where he has executed over 350 planning and programming studies. Frank is an active contributor to the health care community, authoring numerous papers, regularly teaching at the Harvard Graduate School of Design Executive Program. He has served as President of the American Institute of Architects Academy on Architecture for Health, and was a founding Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Architects.
