Do you thrive in an autonomous environment and enjoy construction quality projects? Jordan Michael Design is looking for a talented senior interior designer to join the team. As senior interior designer at JMD, you will play a key role in shaping the aesthetic and functional aspects of our commercial projects. From concept to completion, you will lead the design process, ensuring that our clients’ vision is translated into inspiring and efficient spaces. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and attention to detail are essential to succeed in this role.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the interior design of JMD projects and client presentations
  • Assumes responsibility for design and specification, and management of projects
  • Consistently bringing great, fresh ideas to the team that are project-appropriate, captures the look and attitude, and articulates why they feel it meets the needs of the client
  • Present design ideas to clients
  • Collaborate with team to develop details of design
  • Coordinate with Arch Designer through the design process
  • Furniture specifications
  • Aid in drafting proposals and estimates
  • Aid in Scheduling materials per design
  • Prepare RFIs
  • Assist in social media posts, outreach, and engagement
  • Work with administrative office assistant in ordering, tracking, and scheduling installs
  • Communicate correspondence and initial contact ; communicate with client including initial email and follow up correspondence
  • Work with external collaborators including clients, consultants, and other project partners
  • Initiate and Oversee revisions with subs
  • Read and interpret construction and MEP blueprints and drawings
  • Work closely with team and clients to anticipate design needs
  • Skillfully resolve detailing and technical issues in line with the project’s design agenda
  • Ensures JMD standards and quality are maintained
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support all departments in the company
  • Where appropriate, manage project teams, deliverables, and finances to meet profit targets & deadlines
  • Work with administrative office assistant to order samples and keep material library up to date and organized
  • Managing installs to ensure the design is executed to JMD standards while maintaining a clean job site
  • Act as project manager on assigned projects
  • Update and create SOP’s for tasks relevant to your job


8 years of interior design experience (commercial design experience a plus)

Registered interior designer preferred

Familiarity with building code and safety standards

Experience managing contractors and vendors

Knowledge of Autocad, Sketchup, Adobe Creative Suite required

Knowledge of Microsoft Office (specifically Excel and Powerpoint) and Google Suite required

IPhone and IOS communication preferred

Reliable form of transportation required

Ability to lift 50lbs

Ability to stay on feet for extended periods of time

Work hours: Monday-Friday 9:00am – 5:00pm
