JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Architect position manages multiple large complex projects concurrently and can be relied upon to present directly to the client on technical and design solutions. Works closely with the Project Manager to execute project plans. Coordinates with the Project Manager to directly supervise the teams’ design and technical delivery. May include special expertise roles and titles, such as medical planner, lab planner, etc. Additional responsibilities include developing project architects with less experience. Project size and complexity differentiates this position from the Architect III level.

Position Type + Hours Full time position: 40-hour per week expectation.  Flexible start times with evenings/weekends occasionally required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES + RESPONSIBILITIES
o Communication:

o Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, required documents and presentations to various audiences, including project team, and client relationships.

o Frequently communicates with team/piers on assignments, questions, progress, and completion of tasks.

o Maintain effective communications with all “stakeholders” (such as owners, project managers and other staff, consultants, contractors, vendors, and others) as changes arise to ensure conformance with contract.

· Teamwork:

o Provides leadership for a project team under a senior project manager by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones.

o Determines staffing needs, deadlines, and internal expertise to make the project a success.

o Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel

o Collaborate, support, and mentor staff with-in a team-building work environment, where team members have fun while effectively working together toward meeting internal performance and client objectives.

· Proposals:

o Assists in preparing proposals and reviewing contracts for small to large projects.

o Assists in determining project-specific information including overall project scope, fee estimating, and project scheduling.

o Involved in business development by maintaining existing client relationships and foster new relationships.

· Project Management:

o Develops project work plans, including staffing, and oversees/plans all architectural aspects of construction projects from Concept / Schematic Design Phase through Construction Administration.

o Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel, ensuring individual job assignments are completed timely and consistent with project requirements.

o Proven ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

o Monitor, track and control outcomes to resolve issues, conflicts, dependencies and critical path deliverables.

· Project Involvement:

o Develop design concepts while implementing design criteria and complying with jurisdictional requirements.

o Assigned to handle specific technical design aspects of a project including investigating, evaluating, and recommending the design solutions that best meet the client’s needs.

o Coordinate materials and responsible to produce project specifications while assisting in preparing detailed construction documents as part of a team.

· Standards + Codes:

o Responsible for jurisdictional research through application and permit tracking.

o Coordinate and present plans and documents to appropriate authorities for land use, zoning and permitting approvals.

o Responsible for ensuring the quality control and quality assurance program is initiated and adhered to through the life of the project.

· Construction Administration:

o Review and provide feedback on proposed construction cost estimates and construction schedules.

o Perform construction observation and jobsite visits, attend OAC meetings and assist construction administrators with submittal and RFI reviews and generating documents for PR issuance.

· Abide by and fully support compliance with all firm policies and maintain daily attendance reliability in the office, or as assigned, and in accordance with policies.

· Performance of other related duties as assigned.

o Manage ongoing quality control and participate in quality issue resolution.

· Technology:

o Strong proficiency in Bluebeam, MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PPT, Project, OneNote, & Teams), Deltek Vision, Newforma, and Revit/BIM360 preferred.

o Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Adobe CC (Ps, Id, & Ai), Clarity, Enscape, and Sketchup preferred.

REQUIRED EDUCATION + CREDENTIALS + EXPERIENCE
· Professional degree in architecture or related field required; Bachelor of Arts or Science in Architecture or a Bachelor of Architecture and/or Master of Architecture preferred.

· Architecture licensure in good standing required; NCARB certification preferred.

· AIA, CSI, NCARB, IIDA and/or other current achievement affiliations in good standing preferred.

· CSI, LEED and/or WELL accreditation preferred.

· Experience in construction administration
